15th Jan 1945: Ciss to hospital for whitlow

15 Mon. Bitterly cold, dismal; not much wind. Ciss went to Wimbledon Hospital to have a whitlow on her thumb attended to: she had to have gas. and is going on all right. Phoned up her office and phoned Alb to tell him the news. To Morden to buy fish. Also bought torch batteries locally. Rocket at 6.55 p.m. loud; the direction was ENE. Repaired a coat hanger for Mrs. Veale; it was damaged in the bombing.
