Tues 10 Feb 1942: queuing, rationing

Rather cold but mild by comparison with recent temperatures. The snow has almost gone; dull day but little wind. To Post Office to buy stamps and Postal Order. Thence to Merton High Street but found a queue of almost 200 people outside the cats meat shop so decided not to wait. Bought haricot beans and lentils, now rationed also sprats.
