Sun 22 Feb 1942: clothing coupon gift

Severe frost all day; at least 5 or 6 degrees; dull. Margaret called and went with Ciss to Tolworth and saw young Antony. Alan Spooner called; lent him a potentiometer. Harold Conrade who really prefers to be called by his second surname - Marshall called in evening he brought some flex wire for me, He told us that Rose has a growth and that a major operation will be necessary: poor girl she has had an unfortunate life, I hope she gets on all right. Gave Harold some of my clothing coupons as Rose going into hospital with need for some things.
