Wednesday 25th June 1941: roses & bomb damage

Very warm, brilliant sunshine all day; perfect. To buy provisions in morning. In afternoon cycled to Worcester Park and Old Malden; saw considerable bomb damage there. The country is lovely and the roses in Motspur Park superb. Gave Doris Parr some roses.

On this day. Churchill in the House of Commons: "If we win nobody will care. If we lose, there will be nobody to care."
