Sunday 25th May 1941: cherry blossom + visitors

Mild, cloudy & dull; heavy rain setting in during the afternoon. Walked along Coombe Lane as far as the Kingston-by-pass. The gardens are quite advanced here in spite of the late season in general. Some of the lawns are swept with the snow of the double pink cherry blossom - really beautiful. Mrs. Jordan to tea. Mrs Akroyd to supper. Alan Spooner brought me some aero materials I asked him to get.
