Saturday 7th June 1941: washstand repairs

Terrific bomb explosion at 1.55 a.m. to northward without warning; the plane that dropped it passing over to the south. A brilliant intermittent light was to be seen from the direction in which the bomb fell.
7 Sat. Continued. Very mild, nice sunny morning, but thunder in afternoon, torrential rain setting in for rest of day. Shopping in the rain. Repaired Dad's washstand damaged in the bombing.
