Saturday 3rd May 1941: two hours daylight saving

Very cool, chilly E. wind but some sunshine with little warmth in it. To Wimbledon to but cats' food. Also out during evening. Dorothy Longhurst came to tea. Played the gramophone to her; she is very lovely. Alan Spooner brought a new power valve for test. Raid warning at 10.25 p.m. Not many machines and no local gunfire; the raid was centred elsewhere. All clear at 2.10 a.m. on the 4th Sun but as the clock is put forward another hour making two hours on all told the new time should read 3.10 a.m. on 4 May. Sun...
